Brian Pangburn

Brian Pangburn discovered canopy formation skydiving by chance in 1993 and transformed it into a lifelong pursuit. Over a career spanning more than three decades, he accumulated 47 U.S. National medals and 14 World Championship medals, including 5 gold. He participated in the 2007 100-way canopy formation world record and served as a lead organizer and formation pilot for the 2025 effort that surpassed it, bringing 104 skydivers from 17 countries together above Lake Wales, Florida, to set a new world record.

As a Flight-1 Course Director, Brian trained hundreds of military jumpers and coached the Qatar 4-way sequential team from their first canopy formation jump to a World Championship title in under three years.

In recognition of his contributions to the sport, Brian was awarded the FAI Leonardo da Vinci Parachuting Diploma in 2022.

Brian currently serves on the Museum’s Facilities Committee.  He is a member of the Hall of Fame, Class of 2026.
