About Jerry Birds All Stars
The Jerry Bird All Stars team was made up of Jerry Bird, Sam Alexander, Mike Centracco, Jim Fogelman, Ron Haun, Tom Phillips, Rich Piccirilli, Bill Stage, Bob Westover and Chuck Wickliffe.
Over the course of their five years together, the Jerry Bird All Stars dominated Relative Work (RW) and achieved a number of “firsts” regarding large freefall formations. They documented the first 10-man star in 1967, and won gold at the first official 10-star Nationals in 1972, setting records for speed, fastest star, and fastest total for six jumps ever.
At the 1972 World Meet in Tahlequah, OK, they did 5-point sequential dives wearing smoke and jumping matching suits and canopies. At the end of the meet, the All Stars did a walk up 26-star on one attempt for a new world record.
