The International Skydiving Museum & Hall of Fame currently depends on volunteers to provide critical support of our highly-anticipated events. In the future, when the Museum opens to the public, volunteers will be needed on-site to help with exhibit set up, staff the gift shop, and serve as docents.
To our fabulous event volunteers and those considering donating their time: thank you. We value your generous contribution a great deal.
Annual Celebration Event
Each year, the international skydiving community gathers at an esteemed drop zone for a festive weekend of jumping, forums, fun activities, and, of course, to witness the induction of new members to the International Skydiving Hall of Fame.
Volunteers are essential to making the annual Celebration Event a success. Together, they:
- Support event registration
- Stage displays at the host DZ
- Set up/break down the banquet and reception
- Reset the drop zone
Operation Packrat
Operation Packrat is a multi-day, volunteer-driven event for the purpose of managing the many skydiving artifacts that have been donated and acquired by the Museum over the past several decades. This event occurs every 2-3 years.
Volunteers travel to a storage location to provide expertise and manual labor in order to:
- Identify, document and tag artifacts
- Log information in Accessions & Curations database
- Determine suitability for Museum use
- Repackage, label, appropriately re-store artifacts
