The Skydiving Museum & Hall of Fame continues to make progress toward establishing a permanent home in North Orlando, Florida. The organization is actively working with a leading design firm to develop an engaging and immersive space that will celebrate the history and evolution of skydiving.

The museum will feature interactive exhibits that go beyond traditional static displays. From virtual reality simulators to hands-on demonstrations of gear and equipment through the decades, visitors will be immersed in the sport like never before. Hall of Fame inductees—those who have made extraordinary contributions to skydiving—will be highlighted through innovative technology and storytelling displays.

James F. “Curt” Curtis III, President/CEO of the Skydiving Museum & Hall of Fame Board of Trustees, shared updates on the museum’s development during the USPA Board of Directors meeting and the PIA Symposium in Daytona Beach. According to Curtis, “North Orlando is the perfect location for our museum. We are close to DeLand, one of the finest skydiving centers in the country, and many other drop zones are within reach. Plus, Orlando is one of the largest tourist destinations in the world, offering a broad audience to introduce to our sport.”

In addition to honoring skydiving’s past and present, the museum also plans to host educational experiences and private events.

“It was the dream of Bill Ottley, a pioneer in the skydiving community, to build a museum dedicated to capturing and preserving the history of skydiving,” added Curtis. “In 2005, when Bill went to the blue skies forever, he left a generous bequest to help make this dream a reality. We remain committed to bringing that vision to life.”

Updates on the museum’s progress will continue to be shared as new developments unfold.
