      <title>National Skydiving Museum Weekend Honoring Joe Kittinger and introducing the National Skydiving Museum Hall of Fame</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.skydivingmuseum.org/NewsHome/tabid/58/EntryId/17/National-Skydiving-Museum-Weekend-Honoring-Joe-Kittinger-and-introducing-the-National-Skydiving-Museum-Hall-of-Fame.aspx"&gt;&lt;img alt="Joe Kittinger’s historic jump into outer space." width="150" height="202" vspace="5" hspace="5" border="0" align="left" src="/Portals/0/images/Kittinger2.jpg" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;A mid-summer skydiving celebration honoring the "first man in space" is the centerpiece for one of the biggest fundraising events yet planned for the National Skydiving Museum. Fifty years ago, Air Force Capt. Joe Kittinger exited at 102,800 feet from a helium balloon over New Mexico, reaching a speed of 614 mph during a four-and-a-half minute free fall. The record still stands today, although there have been several attempts to better it.&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Wil Charette, 1936-2010</title>

A. "Squeak" Charette, who was born November 14, 1936, passed away May 9, 2010, at his home in Tampa. Among his many achievements, he was one of the original Golden Knights, serving 11 years in the U.S. Army.&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Hank Simbro, 1927-2010</title>
      <description>&lt;p style="text-align: left;"&gt;&lt;a href="http://skydivingmuseum.org/Portals/0/images/Simbro2.jpg"&gt;&lt;img width="200" vspace="5" hspace="5" height="131" border="0" align="left" alt="Hank Simbro, D-63" src="http://skydivingmuseum.org/Portals/0/images/Simbro2.jpg" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;Hank Simbro, D-63, passed away on Friday, 1-22-2010 at Clark Fork, Idaho. He did most of his jumping at the Lancaster, Taft and Arvin DZ's in Southern California.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p style="text-align: left;"&gt;Hank’s wife, Muriel D-78, was a member of the 1962 U.S. Women's Parachute Team.&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Update Your Rigger, Pilot and other FAA Certificates</title>
      <description>&lt;p style="text-align: left;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;March 31, 2010 deadline&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p style="text-align: left;"&gt;Recent changes to Federal Aviation Regulation 61.19(g) state that the holder of a paper pilot certificate issued under Part 61 may not exercise the privileges of that certificate after March 31, 2010.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p style="text-align: left;"&gt;Airmen must request and be issued a plastic airmen certificate from the FAA, either online or by mailing in the proper form.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p style="text-align: left;"&gt;There is a $2 charge for each certificate issued.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p style="text-align: left;"&gt;This regulation does not apply to student pilot certificates or temporary certificates.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p style="text-align: left;"&gt;The $2 fee is waived if, at the same time, you request your Social Security number be removed as your certificate number.&lt;/p&gt;
